LAHORE: Counsel for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) sought one week from the Supreme Court (SC) to submit a written reply in response to the questions raised by Attorney General Ashtar Ausaf.
The matter is being conducted according to the laws of Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) Act against the accused.
A three-member bench, headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar and comprising of Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Faisal Arab heard the petition which was filed by Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi for the disqualification of PTI chairman Imran Khan and Jahangir Tareen over allegations of concealing assets.
Naeem Bokhari, counsel for PTI chairman, was unable to answer Ausaf’s questions about Tareen’s alleged unfair earning of Rs 70 million.
Ausaf further said that SECP had already taken its decision and found evidences regarding concealment of assets by Tareen, adding that it cannot be challenged at any other forum.
The hearing was adjourned until next Thursday.
