KARACHI: The government of Pakistan borrowed a total of $1.58 billion from banks during the first four months of the current fiscal year.
According to details, the caretaker government took out loans of $820 million in the month july and August two months of the fiscal year.

On the other hand, the new Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) government continued borrowing when they came in power. They borrowed over $760.4 million during the months of September and October.
As per media reports, $320 million were borrowed from commercial banks, $230 million from China and $70 million from Islamic Development Bank.

Moreover, the current government is expected to borrow close to over $9.69 billion during the 2019 fiscal year.
